Les Sarrazinies is situated in St. Felix de Reilhac 10 minutes north of Le Buque, in the heart of the Perigord noir an excellent position for exploring the region. The beautiful estate of Les Sarrazinies is set in 65 acres of woodlands and meadows, and guests can enjoy the peace and tranquility walking, exploring and watching the abundant wildlife. For the ornithologist, your binoculars are a
must! Twenty seven different birds including kingfishers and buzzards were spotted by one lady. For the botanist, rare and wild flowers, including orchids, can still be found in early spring. There are many tracks and footpaths for serious walkers and cyclists. We have four mens and two ladies bikes, a football field with goalposts and a badminton net, table tennis, table football, boules and a dartboard (bring your own darts if you are a serious player), all to use at your leisure (no extra charge).
For those of you who have never visited the Dordogne, it will be an impressive and memorable experience of varying interests and ancient cultures, to sporting activities and architectural delights, all set in the most magnificent scenery of the Dordogne countryside-perfect for the artist and photographer.
The Perigord is considered by the French to be one the most important gastronomic regions of France. The vast selection of restaurants is a gourmet's delight! Five course meals including wine can cost as little as seven pounds-it is also possible to pay a great deal more! There are a tremendous variety of good regional wines at prices ranging from under a pound.

. Les Sarrazinies also has a 2 hole practice range(bring your own clubs). For the fisherman, we have a lake stocked with tench, carp, perch and bream. The lake has been stocked over the past 10 years and the fish have bred sucessfully. All fish caught have been returned to the lake for the future of the sport. Please bring your own rods and barb free hooks. For the keener fisherman, there are a group of 5 lakes nearby that can be fished for a small charge.
At several points along the Vezere and Dordogne rivers, you can hire canoes for a few hours or a whole day-great fun. There is now an equestrian centre here in St. Felix, catering for riders from ten years upwards with a good selection of horses.
Within a half hour drive you can visit some of the most outstanding caves that were inhabited by prehistoric man as long ago as 17,000 years. From the new national museum of speleology in Les Eyzies, you can learn about the cliff faces that have been used as shelters and fortresses through the centuries. In some, you can discover world famous cave drawings of bison, wild oxen and bears-fascinating.
For the wine connoisseur, you are in a good area to explore the vineyards of Bergerac, St. Emilion, Bordeaux and Cahors. The big distilleries in Cognac are also worth a visit.
The pretty town of Le Bugue provides an excellent range of shops for everyday needs, including supermarkets, banks,chemists, post office and English speaking doctor! Every Tuesday, the main street is tranformed into a colourful and busy market, offering a wide selection of local produce, freshly killed poultry, meats, pates, cheeses etc.
The medieval towns of Sarlat and Domme are well worth a visit with their exceptional architecture dating from the 12th.century. An open air drama festival is held in July/August each year in Sarlat which also hosts a market on Saturday along the narrow streets and in the square.
